BEVERLY, Mass. – North Field, home to the Endicott baseball and field hockey programs, is undergoing an extreme makeover this summer and construction crews from DW White out of New Hampshire are working tirelessly to get the field ready for the 2012-13 season.
Endicott’s Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Recreation Mark Kulakowski issued an update on construction progress for North Field, the first combination baseball and field hockey turf field in New England which will also provide another practice field for other athletic teams as well as a great facility for the intramurals program.
“This is going to be a state-of-the-art facility that will continue to exhibit the College’s growth,” said Kulakowski.
As the complex begins to take form, work has been completed with perimeter and field drainage, new lights have been installed, a large retaining wall has been completed on the northeast side as well as a netting system for baseball. Over the next several weeks fencing will be put in place along with a grand entry plaza to the complex and finally the installation of the turf field.
“We continue to target the third week in September for a completion date and for our first contest to take place for field hockey over Homecoming weekend.”
