George Chapell is entering his sixth season as head coach of the men’s volleyball program at Endicott in 2018-19. He also serves as Assistant Sports Information Director for Endicott's 21 varsity sport offerings.

Chapell has led the Gulls to five consecutive New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) titles and five automatic bids into the NCAA Division III Tournament. In 2014, Endicott reached the NCAA Quarterfinals after scoring an upset win over MIT in the opening round before falling to eventual national champions Springfield.

Over his five seasons at the helm, Chapell has coached 15 NECC All-Conference student-athletes, including 2015 Player of the Year John Osborne and 2014 Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Jessee. Osborne, in addition, went on to receive ECAC Second Team New England accolades becoming just the fourth player in program history to achieve all-region honors. Eight Endicott student-athletes during Chapell's tenure have been named Academic All-Conference.

A 2008 graduate of Endicott, Chapell was a four-year member of the men’s volleyball team and three-year starter. He currently ranks 7th all-time in aces (89), 10th in service attempts (1,285), and 4th in solo blocks (46).

Chapell parlayed his college playing success into coaching immediately upon graduation by being named head freshmen girls’ and assistant varsity coach at Haverhill High School in 2008 and as head coach of the Latitude 42’s 17-1 boys volleyball team in 2008.

Chapell also coached numerous camps, such as the Nike Volleyball Camp at Endicott and the MVC Camp at Central Catholic High School.

Following these coaching experiences, Chapell joined the Endicott staff as an assistant, the position he held until his hiring in August 2012. While assistant coaching, his full-time position was as an Expense Analyst at Mobility Services International (MSI) in Hampton, N.H.  Chapell continues to be an active player throughout New England, having participated at the USAV Nationals in multiple years.

Chapell now resides in Bradford, Mass. with his wife, Samantha, their daughter Emilia, and son George III.
