Match One vs Wellesley

Endicott claimed a 3-2 victory over Wellesley as the Blue and Green exchanged set wins of 20-25, 26-24, 24-26, and 25-16 before squeaking out a 15-13 deciding set victory.
Freshman outside hitter Alexandra Gearin (Los Angeles, Calif.) led all players with 15 kills and tied teammate Falyn Torelli (Pelham, N.Y.) with a match-high three service aces to lead the Gulls. Gearing also had 10 digs in the match. Torelli added eight kills and five assisted blocks while right side hitter Elyse Barbour (Greenville, R.I.) struck 10 kills with two block assists of her own.
Setter Sarah Allshouse (Berthoud, Colo.) had 35 assists in the five-set match and did her part on the defensive end with a team-high 18 digs. Junior Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) finished with 17 digs.
As a team, the Gulls had a total of 16.0 blocks. Sophomore Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.) led Endicott players with six assisted blocks.
Match Two vs Keene State

Gearin continued her strong play in the second match of the day as the freshman registered 13 kills in a 3-1 (25-18, 16-25, 25-20, 11-25) win over Keene State. Torelli and Dolan each recorded double-digit kills with 11 and 10, respectively.
Gearin once again contributed defensively with 10 digs with Norley besting her effort from match one with 18 digs in match two. Allshouse had 36 assists in this match while chipping in on the attack with six kills without an error.
As a team, the Gulls had a .264 hit percentage with 51 kills and only 17 errors on 129 attempts.
Endicott also saw a strong effort from freshman middle Hannah Dahlgren (Queensbury, N.Y.) who had six kills on 13 attempts with just two errors against the Owls.
Endicott will host their annual two-day invitational on September 9-10 in MacDonald Gymnasium starting on Friday. The Blue and Green will face St. Mary’s (Minn.) and Middlebury on Friday night at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm before two more matches on Saturday.
