Pinciaro, Ozycz awarded CCC weekly honors for top ranked Gulls
BEVERLY, Mass. â Sophomore attacker Nick Pinciaro (Beverly, Mass.) and graduate student midfielder Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, Conn.) were named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, in a 2-0 week for the first place Endicott menâs lacrosse team.
BEVERLY, Mass. – Sophomore attacker Nick Pinciaro (Beverly, Mass.) and graduate student midfielder Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, Conn.) were named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, in a 2-0 week for the first place Endicott men's lacrosse team.
Pinciaro collected his second CCC Player of the Week award as took over the team lead in total points after scoring seven goals and assisting on two more to put him at 31 points on the season. In a 11-10 win over Wentworth last Tuesday, Pinciaro scored three goals and had a stick in one more as the Blue and Green stormed back in the fourth quarter to beat the Leopards. This past Saturday, Pinciaro netted four more goals with an assist as Endicott bounced Salve Regina 21-1 at home.
Ozycz is now a three-time CCC Defensive Player of the Week after winning 89.5% of his face-off attempts and scooping a total of 38 groundballs in two games. Ozycz lost just five face-offs in 48 attempts, upping his season average to 72.5%. He is ranked #1 in NCAA DIII in groundballs per game 13.2 and fourth in face-off win-percentage.
Endicott is now 8-3 (4-0 CCC) and take on the #4 ranked Tufts Jumbos on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm at Endicott Stadium.
