PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The No. 34 nationally ranked Endicott club men's rugby program finished seventh overall at the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) 7s National Championship this weekend at Talen Energy Stadium, home to Major League Soccer's (MLS) Philadelphia Union.
On Saturday, Endicott opened up the tournament with a 45-5 loss to No. 1 nationally ranked Iowa Central Community College, but bounced back against No. 15 Christendom via a 22-0 triumph.
Endicott then ended the day with a 24-14 loss to No. 13 Cal Maritime, which positioned the Gulls to compete in the seventh/eighth place match on Sunday.
In that match, Endicott turned in a tightly-contested 10-5 victory over New Mexico Highlands for its seventh place finish at the tournament.
"While our play was not up to par we very much enjoyed the venue," said Endicott club men's rugby head coach Dave Kenkel. "A special thanks to all the alumni, parents and friends that showed up to cheer us on."
