WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team registered an 8-1 conference victory over Gordon College on Wednesday evening at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
In doubles action, the No. 1 pairing of Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Fernanda Trevino (Dallas, Texas) claimed a hard-fought 8-6 win, while Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.) and Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.) posted an 8-3 triumph at the No. 3 position.
Meanwhile, singles play featured victories from Barnett, Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.), Hartman, Fitzgibbons, Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.), and Cara McCormack (Worcester, Mass.). The scores and positions for those matches were as follows, in respective order: No. 1 (6-3, 6-1), No. 2 (6-1, 6-3), No. 3 (6-4, 6-2), No. 4 (6-3, 6-0), No. 5 (6-0, 6-4), and No. 6 (6-1, 6-0).
"It was great to get another conference win," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard. "This match was definitely closer than the score looks as a lot of the singles matches were tight at the start but we were able to close them out with some solid tennis."
