Four teams are left in the 2012 3 on 3 basketball playoffs.
The four teams remaining are Nerd Herd, Ghost Busters, Crazy Carl,
and Lexington Minutemen. These four teams all battled last
night and sent four other teams home.
In the first game of the night Ghost Busters rolled past Hakuna
Mutumbo winning 21-15. Tom Shea led Ghost Busters with 12
points while teammates Jack Wyman and Vic Resto combined for 9
points on the night. Ghost Busters will face Nerd Herd in the
semi-final.
Nerd Herd defeated That's The Team I Don't Like with great efforts
from Davas Wright and Ryan McLaughlin who each had 7 points on the
night. That's The Team I Don't Like struggled on defense but
will be a team to look out for next year.
In the most physical game of the night Abusement Park squared off
against Lexington Minutemen. Both teams have great players
however Lexington Minutemen walked away with a W. The
Minutemen were led by Adam Rosen who had 7 points on the
night. Jason Silva and Riley Sheahan of Abusement Park had
moments of glory but struggled to string together points.
Crazy Carl and Dirty Girls faced each other in what ended up being
the longest game of the night. Dirty Girls never gave
up but had a few bounces not go their way.
The game was close all the way through however Crazy Carl walked
away victorious with the help of Trevor Grace who had 13 points on
the night. Crazy Carl will see Lexington Minutemen in the
semi-final.
The semi-finals and championship game will be played Tuesday
February 5th, starting at 7pm. Fans are welcome and
encouraged to come!
