Overtimes, Blowouts, and Upsets: Night One of Arena Football Playoffs

The first night of playoffs for Men's Arena Football was a night full of excitement as the spectators wtinessed two overtime games, an upset, and a huge offensive performance, as four teams were eliminated.
The first game was Daiquiris against Goon Squad. Goon Squad is a talented freshman team with much hope for the future and the Daiquiris are the best offensive team in the league. The game was neck and neck after the half however the Daquiris pulled away in the second half defeating Goon Squad 42-32. Goon Squad saw great efforts from Andre Makris who was the quarterback for most of the game and had two touchdowns on the night. The Daiquiris were led by Connor Seymour and Julian Quinnoes. Quinnones caught two of Seymour's soaring passes resulting in touchdowns. The Daiquiris will now play tonight at 7 p.m.
The second game of the night Beastmode topped The Dirty B winning 55-6. Beastmodes MVP of the game was Ben Petrides who had three touchdowns and an interception on the night. Beastmode will play at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
Skiiyoup played The Pants Tent in the third game of the night. This game was a battle to the end as Skiiyoup snuck out with a win in overtime defeating The Pants Tent 67-61. Phil Konopka connected with Taylor Allen for four of the 9 touchdowns The Pants Tent had on the night, while Lance Green and Pablo Sosa found the end zone five times of 10 for Skiiyoup. The game went into a fourth overtime. Phil Konopka of The Pants Tent threw a ball off the wall that was intercepted, ending the The Pants Tent's streak of scoring in overtime. In Skiiyoup's try they found the endzone on third down and ended the game. Skiiyoup will play tonight at 7:30 p.m. against Beastmode.
The final game of the night was a regular season rematch as Arnie Palmer Alert faced off against Stuart Scott's Left Eye. Stuart Scott's Left Eye was down by six points going into the second half however with seconds left in the game Stuart Scott's Left Eye was up by seven points. Arnie Palmer alert had time for one last play as the clock expired. Tyler Hill threw up the ball to Albert Gonzalez scoring the touchdown and extra point with zero time on the clock forcing the game into overtime with the score 49-49. In the second overtime Seth Fortier failed to find anyone in the endzone for the extra point while Arnie Palmer Alert scored a touchdown and the extra point advancing them to the semi-final. Arnie Palmer Alert will play at 7 p.m. against the Daiquiris.
