Smangers Upset Conquistadors

BEVERLY, Mass- Field House


Smangers are the 2012 Floor Hockey Champions beating Conquistadors 3-2.  Conquistadors went into the game with a perfect season however lost, in a close, physical, competitive season finale.

Smangers started out the game with a 2-0 lead agains the Conquistadors .   Scoring the initial two goals for Smangers were Ryan Pratt and Robbie Goldstick. In the second half the Conquistadors started playing a caliber of floor hockey their were familiar with, responding with two unanswered goals, to make it 2-2 with five minutes to play.  Matt Zimmerman and Craig Ward both lit the lamp while goaltender Cam Macleod shut down the offense, stopping all shots.  Then with just under 1:30 left to play Connor Ressel found the back of the net for Smangers. Ressel and the rest of his team held off Conquistadors as the clock ticked away. Smangers, not only ended their opponents bid at a perfect season, they are your new 2012 Floor Hockey champions!
