Champitus RKD came into the championship game as the reigning Men’s Indoor Soccer Champions and walked out of the Field House with another championship t-shirt. In a close, hard fought battle, Champitus RKD defeated Mustache 1-0 to take home the title. The scoring started off early with a goal by Matt Howard within the first 5 minutes of the match. After that goal, the defenses locked down and controlled the rest of the game. With both goaltenders making breathtaking saves throughout the entire game, several scoring opportunities were negated. With under a minute left, Mike Russo’s final shot hit the post and Champitus RKD was able to clear the ball and as the seconds ticked off, the crowd erupted so watch Champitus RKD secure their second consecutive league title.
