Mission
An often misunderstood aspect of performance is appropriate fueling before, and refueling after, training sessions, practices, and/or competitions. Our mission is to provide Endicott College student-athletes with scientific-based nutrition resources and knowledge regarding fueling timing and options. This team-based education program focuses on sports nutrition related to overall athletic performance. We want our student-athletes, coaches, and staff to develop a better understanding of the importance of quality, foods first nutrition, and the impact it has on student-athlete performance level, performance replication, and availability as well as their classroom performance and overall well-being. We want them to be confident in their nutrition decision-making and their relationship with food.
As a part of the athletic performance team, Endicott Sports Nutrition will work alongside Athletic Training, Strength & Conditioning, Sport Psychology, and Sport Science & Analytics to provide student-athletes with the opportunity to reach their full potential in their sport, their academics, and everyday life.
TEAM TALKS: TEAM NUTRITION EDUCATION
Provide education for teams and position groups regarding nutritional demands specific to their respective sport. Team talks are interactive and topics include but are not limited to recovery, hydration, plate building techniques, travel nutrition, and supplement safety.
GROCERY STORE TOURS
Provide individual/team tours to educate athletes on how to navigate the grocery store to assist them in meeting their nutritional needs and performance goals. Throughout the duration of this tour athletes will discover easy to make meal ideas for apartment & dorm living and healthy snack options for study & travel, especially for Spring Break athletic competition. Athletes will also learn how to read nutrition labels to better understand how to select products based on specific nutritional needs and body composition goals.
COOKING CLASSES AND DEMOS
Provide cooking demos for student-athletes to have the opportunity to gain confidence in the kitchen! Athletes will learn how to cook and prepare easy-to-make recipes in their apartments or residence halls. Recipes with health and performance benefits are provided to athletes during the duration of the demo.
DINING HALL TOURS
Provide dining hall tours in cooperation with Sodexho RD to help familiarize athletes with the food options available to them on a daily basis. This tour can help athletes better understand how to creatively fuel themselves around a busy training, class, and internship schedule.
