Liponis, Jenkins Garner CNE Weekly Awards

BEVERLY, Mass. — No. 3/3 Endicott baseball junior shortstop TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) and senior right-handed pitcher Chris Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.) have been named as the Conference of New England's (CNE) Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday afternoon.

In Endicott's 5-1 week (2-0 CNE), Liponis' bat and glove were a force for the Gulls' lineup.

He recorded nine hits in 20 at-bats, smashed three homers, drove in 10 runs, scored eight runs, and walked three times over the six game stretch. 

That produced an outlandish slashline of a .450 AVG / .519 OBP / .900 SLG out of the eight spot.

Additionally, he flashed the leather from the shortstop position, leading the team with 20 assists on the week.

He logged multi-hit games against Eastern Connecticut State (homer, two singles), MIT (homer, single), and UMass Boston (homer, two singles) during the week.

This is Liponis' first career CNE Player of the Week award.

CHRIS JENKINS | PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Jenkins was once again a key component of the Gulls' pitching staff in their 5-1 stretch (2-0 CNE) last week.

The senior right-hander made two appearances from out of the bullpen, tossing 6.2 innings of relief for the Gulls. He went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA over his two games pitched. He also fanned seven batters and allowed very few baserunners (1.05 WHIP) over the two shutdown relief outings.

This is Jenkins' fourth career CNE Pitcher of the Week award (3/13/23, 5/08/23, 4/22/25).

No. 3/3 Endicott (35-4, 16-0 CNE) receives a bye to the quarterfinal round of the CNE Tournament as the one seed. They face the winner of Western New England and Suffolk on Thursday at 12 PM.
