EASTLAKE, Ohio — Endicott sophomore right-handed pitcher Jake Harmony (Fairfield, Conn.) represented the Gulls on the Division III College World Series and D3baseball.com All-Tournament Teams, both organizations announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Harmony recorded the win in each of the Gulls' two tournament victories — both against No. 8/9 Kean. Over his two relief outings, he posted a line of 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K's, and a WHIP of a 0.57, completely stifling the red-hot Cougars' lineup in both appearances.
In the Gulls' opening win on Friday, May 30, Harmony entered in a 5-3 ballgame with one out in the fifth inning. He stranded an inherited runner at second in that frame, and went on to toss a career-high four shutout innings of relief, recording the win in the lights-out appearance.
Then, he entered in a similar situation on Sunday. He took over with the Gulls down one in the top of the seventh, and once again shut down the Cougars' bats, guiding the Gulls to a 5-4 come-from-behind victory.
Harmony is the third-ever member of the Gulls to be named to a CWS All-Tournament Team, and the second-ever to be named to both the D3baseball.com and NCAA All-Tournament teams.
