Gulls continue historic season
Nov. 10, 2008
BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College equestrian team kept their record-setting start to the season going at the Boston College-Bridgewater State College horse show as they were able to win Reserve High Team Point Team despite not having its usual Open Level Point riders. The Gulls are now tied for second place in Team points with Tufts University.
Without its usual Open Division Point riders, Katherine Noyes (Morristown, N.J.), Mia Finkelstein (Peabody, Mass.), Kate Selig (Groveland, Mass.), Alisha Phipps (Cotuit, Mass.), and Stephanie Carlisle (Franklin, Mass.) stepped up and provided the Gulls with a successful finish.
Endicott's riders brought home their share of blue ribbons from Erica Hill (Wilton, Mass.), Phipps, Leigh Fitzgerald (Bolton, Mass.) and Carlisle. Stephanie has ably taken over as Walk-Trot point rider from Kim Davis (West Hartford, Conn.) who pointed out to Beginner Walk-Trot-Canter at the last show.
Novice Alisha Phipps narrowly missed Reserve High Point Rider in a ride-off with top Open rider Jamie Marsalise who rides for Stonehill College.
The team's final competition for the fall season will be next Saturday, November 15, hosted by Tufts University at August Farm in Holliston, Massachusetts.
