Wilcox shines at equestrian's home show
November 9, 2010
Beverly, Mass - The Endicott equestrian team had an excellent day at their home show at Springtide Farm on Sunday. The team maintained its third place standing, but the distance between the top team, UNH, and Endicott widened as the possibility of a team trip to Zones is shrinking.
\#Anne Wilcox\# (Philadelphia, Pa.) topped the day, winning both her Novice classes and then beating UVM’s Open rider to win High Point Rider for the show. \#Stephanie Carlisle\# (Franklin, Mass.) won Beginner Walk-Trot-Canter, giving her two wins in a row. Meanwhile, \#Lauren Horth\# (Dalton, Mass.) took first in Open Flat.
Intermediate rider \#Desmond O’Leary\# took his first IHSA blue in Intermediate Fences.
Wilcox pointed out in Novice Flat, qualifying her for the Regional Finals in March.
Endicott hosted the largest show of the season with 183 participants.
Good management by Coach Andreottola and facility owner Kathy Brylo insured that the show ran smoothly and didn’t drag.
All Endicott riders pitched in, parking cars, keeping score, announcing and being the Ringmaster as well as holding horses in frigid weather and then competing to boot.
