Equestrian Competes at UNH and Home Event

The weekend was extremely busy for Endicott Equestrian, competing in a show hosted by the University of New Hampshire on Saturday and hosting Endicott's show on Sunday….in the rain, snow and wind.

Showing their toughness, the Endicott show ran smoothly, with no waits or hitches, allowing competitors to get on the road – many going back to campuses covered in snow.  Coach Brightman devised an efficient system for running classes that made the difference.

Endicott riders fared well at the UNH show, with blues won by Silvia Graf (Intermediate Fences), Erin Zani (Intermediate Fences), Lillian Dugan (Novice Fences) and Morgan Entwistle (Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter). At the end of the show Endicott stood second in team standings.

Hosting a perfect show took a toll on Endicott's competitors in their own show, however, with only captain Abby Raynes (Novice Fences) and Morgan Knight (Walk-Trot) winning their classes.  Endicott now stands fourth in the team standings.

The effects of the cold, wind, rain and snow were mitigated by the great food (including pulled pork) donated and sold by the team's outstanding squad of parents.  Dr. Wylie and Mrs. Wylie were in attendance as well as Athletic Director Brian Wylie and voiced their admiration for the way the show was conducted, despite the adverse conditions.

Over the weekend Nicole McClellan and Morgan Entwistle pointed out and have thus qualified for Regional Finals in the spring.

The next and final competition for the fall will be hosted by Dartmouth and Colby-Sawyer at the Dartmouth facility on November 8.
