BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College equestrian head coach Megan Martin has been named the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association's (IHSA) Zone 1 Region 2 president.
Martin was nominated and elected by her peers from the region. Teams representing Zone 1 Region 2 include the University of Vermont, University of New Hampshire, University of Maine, University of New England, Colby-Sawyer, Middlebury, Northeastern, and Vermont State University Castleton.
"I'm excited for this new position and thankful the other teams in Region 2 trust me to lead them. I've worked as an IHSA coach for seven years now and have been hopeful that I'd take on the president role at some point because it allows me to make a bigger impact throughout the community," said Martin. "By being on the board of directors for the IHSA I can help enact change, growth, and continuation of this wonderful organization."
Martin's duties as the IHSA Zone 1 Region 2 president include collecting and processing preseason paperwork for all teams previously mentioned, organizing and directing Regional Finals, advising coaches, and serving as a liaison for the region, Zone 1, and the IHSA national office.
She also is designated as the leader of the Zone 1 Region 2 standards and ethics committee, has a seat at the IHSA Board of Directors table, and is a steward for Zone 1 Finals.
As part of the IHSA Board of Directors, Martin is tasked with attending the association's national meetings and is a member of their DEI and public relations/fundraising committees.
