Football Bests Maine Maritime, 69-7
BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott football team cruised to a 69-7 Conference of New England (CNE) victory over Maine Maritime on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.
In just the first quarter, the Gulls received a rushing touchdown from Bryan Ferreira (Woburn, Mass.), two receiving touchdowns for Jacob Ward (Coventry, R.I.), and a 52-yard punt return by Jack Steen (Lowell, Mass.) to go up comfortably, 28-0.
Endicott continued to pile on the offense throughout the first half, as the Blue and Green headed into halftime up by seven scores (48-0).
Quarterback Ryan Boyce (Northbridge, Mass.) scrambled for two touchdowns, while Ferreira punched in his 12th rushing touchdown of the season as part of a 20-point second quarter.
The second half also featured more from the ground game, highlighted by Michael O'Brien (Guilford, Conn.).
The junior back punched in two touchdowns in the third quarter to put the Gulls up 62-7, before freshman back Sam Hubbard (Natick, Mass.) kept a tough run alive to score his first career touchdown in the fourth, and put the icing on the cake in the 69-7 home win.
Shea Lynch (Peabody, Mass.) had a nearly perfect day at the quarterback position, as he went 9-for-10 on his passing attempts and threw for 166 yards (two touchdowns). Boyce was 3-for-6 with 24 passing yards alongside a career-high 39 rushing yards and two scores.
Defensively, Nick Ferguson (East Longmeadow, Mass.) led the charge with seven tackles (one tackle for loss). Trent Jackson (East Providence, R.I.) also wrapped up six tackles (two TFL's).
AJ Tucci (Cornwall, N.Y.) and Dom Canny (Londonderry, N.H.) each recovered a fumble in the win, while Brandon Alfaro Mateo (Marlborough, Mass.) went 6-7 on PATs and Garoid Stones (Braintree, Mass.) drilled a perfect three out of three.

- The Gulls set a program record with their 69-point performance.
- Ferreira's 12 rushing touchdowns are the most by a freshman in program history.
- He trails only Mike Lane '12 and Spencer Walsh '16 for most in program history (Walsh 14 | Lane 13).
- First career multi-touchdown game for Ward.
- Ward also set a personal best with his 80 receiving yards.
- Career-high 87 rushing yards for O'Brien.
- Owen Barrett (Topsfield, Mass.) blocked his first career punt in the first quarter, which led to Ward's second TD on the day (21-0).
- Steen registered his first career touchdown in the victory.
- Endicott has outscored opponents 125-10 in the last two weeks.

Endicott (7-1, 5-0 CNE) travels to New England College next Saturday for a 12 PM CNE matchup. Maine Maritime (0-8, 0-5 CNE) hosts WNE for another 12 PM CNE matchup next Saturday.
