Field Hockey Overpowers Gordon, 7-1

WENHAM, Mass. - Behind an offensive attack that posted seven goals for the third consecutive contest, the Endicott field hockey team defeated cross-town and Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) foe Gordon 7-1 on Saturday to improve to 6-3 overall, and 2-0 in CCC play at the Brigham Athletic Complex. 

The Gulls jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period as Jenna Seibold (Reading, Mass.) scored both, giving her eight on the season. Her first tally was unassisted and came just 52 seconds into play, while Brooke Yabroudy (Nashua, N.H.) and Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) assisted on the second, which came in the 13th minute of action.

Endicott would increase the lead for 4-0 at halftime after Blake Braman (Clinton, Conn.) scored her second of the season in the 28th minute, and Poulin notched her ninth just 40 seconds later at the 28:35 mark. Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.) and Jennifer Beardsley (Essex, Mass.) assisted on Braman's, their second and third assists of the campaign, respectively.

Following the Scots' lone goal in the 44th minute, the Gulls would respond with three fourth period goals, the first of which was scored by Claire Boncek (Hamden, Conn.) at the 45:26 mark, with the assist going to Beardsley. Poulin's second of the contest, and 10th of the year, came in the 56th minute, before Kathleen Reissfelder (Westwood, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal in the 59th minute to conclude the scoring. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Endicott is now 24-8 all-time against Gordon.
• Casey Halliday (Monroe, Conn.) assisted on Reissfelder's tally for her first collegiate point.
• The Gulls out-shot the Scots 39-3 in the match overall, including a 24-3 edge in shots on goal, while also holding a 19-3 edge in penalty corners. 
• Endicott 26 goals over the last four contests are the most scored in four match win-streak since 2018.
• As part of Endicott's Homecoming & Family Weekend, the Gulls raised their 2019 CCC Championship banner at the Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday morning.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (6-3, 2-0 CCC) is now off until next Saturday when the Gulls welcome the Golden Bears of Western New England to the Nest for a 1:00 PM start. Gordon (1-6, 1-1 CCC) is also off until Sunday when the Scots play host to the Nor'Easters of the University of New England at noon.
