Hicks and Antonelli Earn CNE Weekly Awards
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athletes Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.) and Abby Antonelli (Worcester, Mass.) have earned Conference of New England's (CNE) weekly awards, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Hicks has been named the CNE Offensive Player of the Week, while Antonelli has garnered Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
REAGAN HICKS, OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hicks led Endicott to a 2-0 week against No. 19 MIT (3-0) and New Paltz (3-2) behind a 5-point effort (1g, 3a). She registered one assist in the shutout win over MIT.
Followed up against New Paltz by scoring the Gulls' first goal to cut the Hawks' lead to one and then had assists on the game-tying and game-winning goals.
This is Hicks' first career Offensive Player of the Week award.
ABBY ANTONELLI, DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Antonelli was part of the Endicott defense that helped the Gulls earn road victories over No. 19 MIT and New Paltz. The senior added two goals as well, including the game-winner versus New Paltz.
Antonelli leads the Endicott defensive penalty corner unit that has yet to give up a goal this season, which includes nine versus MIT and seven against New Paltz. The Worcester, Mass. native's game-winner against New Paltz was the fourth of her career and capped off the Gulls' comeback from being down 2-0 in the third quarter.
This marks Antonelli's first career CNE Defensive Player of the Week award.
