Perkins Claims CNE Defensive Player of the Week Honors
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athlete Riley Perkins (Lakeville, Mass.) has earned Conference of New England's (CNE) Defensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday.
The sophomore was part of the Endicott defense that helped the Gulls earn a shutout victory in their CNE opener versus UNE. She also scored in the 10-0 win as well.
Perkins and the Gulls defense allowed zero shot by UNE in the first half and just nine in total for the game. Then in the third quarter, the Lakeville, Mass. native slotted home a penalty stroke in the third quarter for her first goal of the season and second of her career.
