BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 23 Endicott field hockey team defeated Gordon, 6-0, on Saturday morning in conference action at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) got the scoring started for the Gulls just one minute and 18 seconds into the contest. Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.) doubled up the Endicott lead in the first quarter as Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) assisted on both first quarter goals.
Another Dengler tally at the 19:36 mark of the second quarter off a feed from Sabrina Brunet (South Burlington, Vt.) opened up a 3-0 advantage for Endicott heading to halftime.
In the third quarter, Swanson and Hicks both found the back of the goal 65 seconds a part pushed the Gulls lead to 5-0 with Lily Farnham (Andover, Mass.) seting up Hicks for her ninth goal of the season. Elena Govoni (Walpole, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Blue and Green in the fourth quarter with just over three minutes remaining.
Defensively, the Gulls only gave up zero shots on goal helping Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) and Caroline Harvey (Dover, Mass.) combine for the shutout. Minickene played the first half, while Harvey backstopped the Gulls in the last two periods.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is now 28-8 all-time versus Gordon (16th consecutive win)
- Govoni has goals in back-to-back games.
- Third multi-goal game of the season for Dengler and Hicks
- With her four points today, Swanson is now tied for the all-time points record with 153.
