KEENE, N.H. — The No. 12 Endicott field hockey team defeated Keene State, 5-0, in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday night at the Owl Athletic Complex.
Lily Farnham (Andover, Mass.) opened the scoring for the Gulls just 2:14 into the game on a rebound opportunity for her fourth goal of the season. The host Owls then controlled much of the play the rest of the first quarter as they outshot Endicott 5-1, with Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) keeping the hosts off the scoreboard with three saves.
Endicott then took control of the game in the second quarter as Riley Perkins (Lakeville, Mass.) converted a penalty stroke and then Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) scored her first goal off a penalty corner than saw Perkins find the senior on the back post.
Up three to start the third quarter, Swanson finished off her hat-trick with two goals just two minutes and 28 seconds apart to give the Blue and Green a 5-0 advantage and secure the road win.
Minickene is now 9-1 this season as she made nine saves for her third shutout this season and fifth career shutout.
