Dengler and Perkins Lead No. 12 Field Hockey Past WNE, 5-0
BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 12 nationally ranked Endicott field hockey team powered its way past Western New England, 5-0, in Saturday afternoon's Conference of New England (CNE) Homecoming matchup.
Riley Perkins (Lakeville, Mass.) netted her fourth penalty stroke goal of the season just 43 seconds into the game, and then added another early in the second quarter (18:25) to put the Blue and Green up 2-0.
Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) potted her ninth goal of the season with just under three minutes remaining in the half to give the Gulls a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.
Then, in the third quarter, Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) broke loose for her 13th goal of the season after she followed up her own shot attempt at the 40:58 mark.
Dengler broke loose once more in the fourth, as she notched her second of the game with just under three minutes remaining to close out the Golden Bears by a 5-0 score.
Faith Minickene (Monroe, Conn.) improved to 10-1 on the season after her four-save effort. Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) relieved her at the start of the fourth quarter and turned away three shots in the opportunity.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott improves to 29-6 all-time against the Golden Bears.
- The Blue and Green have won 13 in a row against WNE dating back to 9/30/2017.
- First multi-goal game of Perkins' career. All five of her goals this season have come on converted penalty strokes.
- Seventh shutout of the season for Endicott.
- First 10-game win streak for the Gulls since 2022 (11 games).

No. 12 Endicott (10-1, 4-0 CNE) welcomes Saint Joseph's (Maine) to North Field on Wednesday, October 8 for a 7 PM non-conference matchup. Western New England (7-5, 3-1 CNE) welcomes Castleton to Springfield on Tuesday, October 7 in a 7 PM non-conference clash.
