BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 12 nationally ranked Endicott field hockey team defeated Saint Joseph's (Maine), 8-1, in Wednesday evening's non-conference matchup at North Field.
Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) led the Gulls' offensive attack by tallying four goals in the contest.
Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) showed off her playmaking abilities by registering four assists, three of which were on Swanson's goals.
After Swanson put the Blue and Green on top 1-0, Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.) added to the lead just 1:52 later with Dengler on the assist.
Swanson completed her first half hat-trick early in the second quarter to give the Gulls a 4-0 advantage going into the break.
Lily Farnham (Andover, Mass.), Swanson, Riley Perkins (Lakeville, Mass.), and Sabrina Brunet (South Burlington, Vt.) each found the back of the net in the second half resulting in a final score of 8-1.
Defensively, Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) improved to 11-1 after her three save performance. Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) relieved her in the fourth quarter (third appearance of this season).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott moves to 8-1 all-time against Saint Joseph's.
- Seventh career hat trick for Swanson. Her four goals tied a single-game personal high (9/10/24, MIT).
- Dengler is the first Gull ever to rack up a four-assist game.
