Dengler And Minickene Garner CNE Weekly Awards
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey senior forward Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) and sophomore goalie Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) have been named the Conference of New England's (CNE) Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
MADDY DENGLER, OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dengler led the Gulls during a 2-0 week with 6 points as she scored three goals. The senior started the week in Endicott's 7-1 win over Simmons with a goal.
She followed up versus Johnson & Wales by scoring two goals in a 5-0 road victory, her fifth multi-goal game of the season, and helped Endicott secure an undefeated conference record. The Winchester, Mass. native got the scoring started in the second quarter and then followed up with her 15th goal of the season in the third quarter.
This is Dengler's second CNE Offensive Player of the Week award this season and of her career (10/14).
FAITH MINICKENE, DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Minickene led the Gulls to a 2-0 record this week. The sophomore recorded 15 saves (1.00 save percentage) and a 0.00 goals against average in 105 minutes of action.
On Wednesday in the 7-1 victory over Simmons, Minickene made five saves in 45 minutes of action.
She followed that up against Johnson & Wales by stopping 10 shots in a 5-0 win, the 11th shutout win of the year for the Gulls. 8 of her saves came in the second quarter as the Wildcats had 10 shots.
Today's announcement is Minickene's third career CNE Weekly Award (9/23/24, 9/29/25) and second this season.
