Endicott Loses in Hampton Inn Championship Game

North Dartmouth, MA-- In an up and down battle, the Endicott men's basketball team lost in the championship game of the Hampton Inn Classic at UMass Dartmouth, 74-69 to the sharpshooting Enigineers of MIT..

MIT surged to an early lead of 15 points in the first half, however, the Gulls were able to close the gap to 38-34 behind the scoring of Samuel Evans and Nemanja Marinkovic.

In the second half, the Gulls were able to tie the game but committed too many turnovers (23 game) to secure a win. MIT emerged as the tournament winners behind tournament MVP Adam Gibbons's 20 points and all tournament team member Mike D'Auria's 19. Sophmores Nemanja Marinkovic (11pts, 7rebs) and Samuel Evans (16pts, 11rebs) were selected to the all tournament team.
