Gulls Earn ECAC Tournament Bids

BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College men's and women's basketball teams have accepted bids to play in the 2007 ECAC New England Championship Tournament. The women are slated as the No. 3 seed and will take on Castleton State, while the men are seeded in the No. 4 spot and will play host to Lasell College. Games will be played on Wednesday evening at Tufts University with the women scheduled for a 6:00 PM start and the men playing immediately following at 8:00.
The Endicott College women's basketball team fell to eventual CCC Champion Salve Regina University on February 22nd in Newport, Rhode Island. The Gulls enter Wednesday's First Round game against Castleton State with an 18-9 record. This is Endicott's third-straight ECAC appearance. The Castleton State Spartans earned the 6th seed in the 8-team tournament as they posted a 19-8 record, falling to Maine Maritime Academy, 53-38 in the North Atlantic Conference Semifinals. This is the Spartans first ECAC Tournament berth.
The Endicott College men's basketball team enters Wednesday's match-up with Lasell College with an overall record of 15-11. The Gulls dropped a tough 71-65 decision to Curry College in the CCC Semifinals. Endicott had appeared in three-straight NCAA Division III National Tournaments. This is their first showing in the ECAC's since the 2002-2003 season. Lasell College comes into the ECAC Tournament with a 16-11 overall record. Wednesday marks the Lasers second appearance in the ECAC post season tournament. Lasell fell to Elms College in the North Atlantic Conference Semifinal, 68-64.
