Millette resigns as head men's basketball coach
March 6, 2009
BEVERLY, Mass. - Brian Wylie, Director of Athletics, has announced the resignation of head men's basketball coach Chris Millette. In his four years at the helm of the program, Millette compiled a 56-52 overall record and helped guide the Gulls to the 2005-06 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship.
During his tenure with the Gulls, Millette coached a total of five Conference All-Stars, including a back-to-back First Team recipient in 05-06 and 06-07. Serving as one of the youngest head men's basketball coaches in the nation in 2005, Millette posted a 19-10 record (13-3 CCC) en route to the Conference title.
The Gulls are optimistic about the future with a new coach set to inherit a roster laden with young talent. Included in the group is Endicott's lone conference honoree from last year, Graham Whitelaw, who averaged the seventh-most points per game in the league last season at 15.6 points per night. The Gulls will also once again be one of the tallest teams in New England, as the squad features six players who stand 6'6" or taller.
