Men’s Basketball Edges Wentworth, 80-75

BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott men's basketball team surged past Wentworth late in the second half to secure an eventual 80-75 victory on Saturday evening inside Tansey Gymnasium.

Trailing by six points (60-54) with 8:28 left to play in the second stanza, Endicott outscored Wentworth, 26-15, down the stretch to come away with the victory.

Ty Vitko (Dover, N.H.) ignited the Gulls' comeback as the freshman guard compiled eight points, a rebound, and a steal all the way from the 8:28 mark to the final buzzer.

Endicott also received nine points from Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine), four via Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.), a three-pointer by Billy Arseneault (Lynnfield, Mass.), and layup from Jalen Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) during the run.

Overall, Brown finished the contest with a team-high 16 points, while Vitko (15, career-high), McDevitt (13), and Arseneault (12) rounded out the group of double-digit scorers.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Neither team held a lead of more than nine points in today's matchup.
• Wentworth led by as many as eight with 2:08 remaining in the first half, while Endicott held a nine-point advantage at the 13:19 mark of the opening stanza.
• Both teams nearly shot 50.0-percent from the field (Endicott 47.3%, Wentworth 48.3%).
• Vitko was 5-for-6 from the field (1-1 3PT) in the second half.
• His 11 points in the stanza were tied for the most by a student-athlete in the final 20 minutes of action.
• Brown will enter his next game 35 points shy of 2,000 for his career.
• The Gulls improved to 7-4 on the road this season.
• Endicott is 31-10 all-time against Wentworth.
• The Gulls have won nine straight versus the Leopards.
