Gulls take third out of seven at Saint Joseph's

CASCO BAY, Maine - The Endicott College men's golf team posted a steady 317 as the Gulls battled their way to a third place finish at the 2008 John Queenan Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by Saint Joseph's College in Casco Bay, Maine. Husson University captured the tournament title as the Eagles finished 10 strokes ahead of second place finished Southern Maine, stroking a 299 in the win. Husson's Chris Hamel earned Medalist Honors with a field-best 74.
Four Husson players found spots among the top six finishers, led by Hamel and Mike Hersey. Endicott's Andrew LaRocque (Averill Park, N.Y.) finished just one stroke off the leader, posting a team-best 75 for third place. The Gulls' Drew Sullivan (Katonah, N.Y.) finished in 10th place with a 77, while teammate Peter Weatherby (Portsmouth, R.I.) took the 11th spot with a 78.
Just four days after shooting a 79 at the Nichols College Invitational, Endicott's Garett Seney (Bow, N.H.) finished in 27th place with an 87. Jerry Miceli (South Windsor, Conn.), who shot an 81 over the weekend in Dudley, Mass., fired an 88 for the Blue and Green.
The Gulls return to action over the weekend as they once again head back to Maine, this time to meet the University of Southern Maine for a two-day event at Sable Oaks in Portland, Maine.
