Gulls finish second at USM Fall Classic

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine - The Endicott College golf team posted a season-best 308, as the Gulls took second out of nine competing schools at the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic at the Sable Oaks Golf Club in South Portland, Maine on Monday. Endicott finished seven shots behind first place Husson, who ended the day with a 301.
Husson's Chris Hamel took home Medalist Honors as he shot a field-leading 73. Hamel was also the medalist in Endicott's third place showing at the 2008 John Queenan Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by Saint Joseph's College.
The Gulls were led by Dan Ryan (Plymouth, Mass.) and Andrew LaRocque (Averill Park, N.Y.), as the pair each shot a 75 to earn a share of third place. Peter Weatherby (Portsmouth, R.I.) tied with UNE's Sean Caddingan for eighth place with a 77, followed by Drew Sullivan's (Katonah, N.Y.) 81. Endicott's Garett Seney (Bow, N.H.) rounded out the Gulls' scoring with an 85, tying him for 25th overall.
Castleton State shot a 313 for third place honors, followed by Southern Maine (Blue) 318, and the University of New England's 329.
