Men's golf earns second place finish at USM Fall Classic

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The Endicott College men’s golf team continued the hot start to its season as the Gulls finished second overall at the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic held on Monday afternoon in South Portland, Maine. The Gulls were led by a pair of top-three finishes including a second place finish by \#Peter Weatherby\# (Portsmouth, R.I.), who shot a 75, and \#Dan Ryan\# (Plymouth, Mass.) who fired a 76.
The Gulls finished second behind the Husson University Eagles, who won the team championship with a total of 314 strokes. Husson’s Kevin Bryne earned individual medalist honors with a three-over-par 73 on the 6,359 yard course. Endicott College placed second with a 317 followed by UMaine Farmington in third with 323. The University of New England edged out Southern Maine for fourth place with a score of 329 in the eight team event.
Endicott’s \#Andy Larocque\# (Averill Park, N.Y.) finished tied for 14th with an 82 while Drew Sullivan (Katonah, N.Y.) and \#Jack Wyman\# finished just outside the top-20 by shooting 84 and 85, respectively.
The Blue and Green return to the links on Saturday, October 3rd when they travel to Farmington, Conn. for the ECAC Tournament.
