Endicott beats the competition at UNE Golf Invitational

Old Orchard Beach, Maine – The Endicott men’s golf team claimed their first team victory of the 2010 season by beating the field at the University of New England Invitational at Dunegrass Country Club in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
The Gulls, who finished with a team score of 313, finished ten strokes ahead of the second place team UNE (323) followed by Saint Joseph’s College (335) and University of Southern Maine (340).
Leading the Blue and Green in the one-day tournament was senior \#Andrew LaRocque\# (Averill Park, N.Y.) who bested all golfers as the number one overall finisher with an individual score of 73. LaRocque was named a medalist for winning the individual title for the second straight year thanks to a 35 on the back nine.
Following LaRocque was sophomore \#Jackson Wyman\# (Falmouth, Maine) who went into the clubhouse with a 76, good for second overall. Tied for fourth place overall was Endicott sophomore \#DJ Bennett\# (Madison, Conn.) who carded a 78.
Wrapping up the scoring for the Gulls were freshmen \#Anthony Gesualdi\# (Johnston, R.I.) and \#Ian Teal\# (Loudonville, N.Y.) who each tallied a score of 86 and tied for 11th place.
Endicott returns to the course this Sunday, October 10 at the Bison invitational at Green Hill Golf Course in Worcester. The team will tee off at 12:30 pm.
