Men’s Golf Places Fifth At Duke Nelson Invitational
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — The Endicott men’s golf team placed fifth overall out of 23 teams at the Duke Nelson Invitational this weekend, hosted by Middlebury College at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course (par 71 — 6,423 yards).
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — The Endicott men's golf team placed fifth overall out of 23 teams at the Duke Nelson Invitational this weekend, hosted by Middlebury College at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course (par 71 — 6,423 yards).
Hamilton won the two-day event with a team score of +25, while Hartford (+27), Babson (+29), Western New England (+37), and Endicott (+38) rounded out the rest of the top-5.
Hadyn Kornusky (Topsfield, Mass.) ranked 11th overall for the Gulls out of 120 student-athletes with a two-day score of +6.
Kornusky closed out the invitational on Sunday with the second-best round (tied w/ 4 others) of anyone in the field shooting 1-under to help him move up 39 spots on the leaderboard.
Myles O'Quinn (Durham, N.H.) ranked second on the squad at 27th overall (+10), while Tyler Baker (Falmouth, Maine), Will Pierce (Melrose, Mass.), and Brady Burke (Bedford, N.H.) followed in respective order (32nd, +11 | 40th, +12 | 56th, +14).
BEYOND THE SCORECARD
- Endicott ranked eighth after day one.
- The Gulls dropped six strokes off their day one score (306-300).
- On Sunday, Kornusky shot 2-under on the back-9 to close out his 1-under round.
- Kornusky compiled 11 pars and four birdies on day two.
