EVERETT, Mass. — The No. 14 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team lost to Wentworth, 4-2, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Saturday afternoon at Allied Veterans Memorial Rink.
Wentworth jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second period (1:33, 11:27, and 16:16).
The Gulls pulled two back in the final period, as goals by Brad Zona (Auburn, Mass.) (14:55) and Ryan Willett (Bayville, N.Y.) (17:50) cut the deficit to one with 2:10 to play.
Endicott had several great opportunites with the extra skater on the ice but were unable to tie the game as the Leopards scored an empty net goal to put away the game and secure the 4-2 victory.
In goal, Ryan Wilson (Shelton, Conn.) stopped 18 shots in the setback.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is now 22-4 all-time versus Wentworth
- First defeat to the Leopards since 1/22/22 (2-1, OT)
- Cade Baker (York, Pa.) recorded his first career assist on Zona's goal.
- The Gulls are 8-2-0 on the road this season.
