No. 15 Men's Hockey Bests Johnson & Wales On Senior Day, 4-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 15 Endicott men's ice hockey team handled Johnson & Wales University on Senior Day, 4-1, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Saturday afternoon at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
Prior to the matchup, Ethan Bastien (Natick, Mass.), James Davenport (Natick, Mass.), Kendrick Frost (Lees Summit, Mo.), Domenic Garozzo (Sewell, N.J.), Cody Hoban (Guilford, Conn.), Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.), Jack Ring (Guilford, Conn.), Primo Self (Grand Rapids, Mich.), Jack Smiley (Washington Crossing, Pa.), Ryan Willett (Bayville, N.Y.), Ryan Wilson (Shelton, Conn.), and Brad Zona (Auburn, Mass.) were all honored on the ice in a pre-game ceremony for their contributions to the men's ice hockey program and the College.
The Gulls broke out to a one-goal lead at the 15:12 minute mark of the first period off of a shorthanded tally by John Goldowski (Buffalo, N.Y.), with assists coming from Michael Casey (Media, Pa.) and A.J. Martinelli (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.).
Willett opened the scoring early in the second with a rebound wrister in front of the net exactly one minute into the frame. The Wildcats were able to respond one minute and 51 seconds later to bring their deficit back to just one.
Willett's second score of the game, which was a breakaway opportunity, was able to lead Endicott back to a two-goal advantage, 3-1. Davenport threaded a narrow stretch pass to notch the lone assist on the goal.
Frost added the last goal of the seniors and the blue and green at 13:04 in the final stanza increasing their goal margin to three, ultimately sealing the 4-1 victory.
In goal, Wilson made 16 saves on 17 shots (.941) improving his record to 6-3-1 on the season (25-8-3 career).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Smiley played in his first game since suffering a stroke 3 years ago.
- Endicott moves to 10-0-0 all-time versus the Wildcats.
- First multi-goal game of the season for Willett.
- Goldowksi now has five career short-handed goals.

No. 15 Endicott (16-7-1, 13-3-1 CNE) hosts Western New England on Friday, February 21 at 5:00 PM. Johnson & Wales (9-13-2, 4-11-2 CNE) welcomes No. 5 Curry to Lynch Arena on Friday for a 7:00 PM contest.
