SALEM, Mass. — The No. 14 Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Salem St., 8-1, on Sunday night in non-conference action at Rockett Arena.
Lou Kamienski (Elmhurst, Ill.) got the scoring started just 43 seconds into the contest for his first career goal.
Hudson Blue (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Noah Gibbs (Saint-Basile, New Brunswick, Canada) also potted their first career goals in the first period at 9:28 and 11:41 to give the Gulls a 3-0 lead.
The Blue and Green continued the offense scoring as Gibbs, Therien Thiesing (Lynchburg, Tenn.), and Sebastian Speck (Dryden, Mich.) all found the back of the net in the second period to push the lead to 6-0.
After Salem St. got on the board early in the third period, Taybor Aldrich (Williston, Vt.) and John Goldowski (Buffalo, N.Y.) added to the goal scoring, securing the season-opening 8-1 victory.
Jack Costanzo (Gloucester, Mass.), Kyle Furey (Marblehead, Mass.), and James Hooley (Quincy, Mass.) all led the team with two assists apiece as 13 different student-athletes recorded assists.
In goal, Peter Sterling (Manassas, Va.) earned his first career win as he stopped 16 of 17 shots in 50 minutes of action. Krystian Jaks (Bellinzona, Switzerland) saved six shots over the final 10 minutes of the contest.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is now 13-2 all-time against Salem St.
- Six of the Gulls eight goals were scored by freshman (Kamienski, Blue, Gibbs, Speck, and Aldrich)
- The eight goals were a program-record for goals scored in a season-opener.
- Sean Bradley (Scituate, Mass.) and Furey recorded their first career point for the Gulls.

No. 14 Endicott (1-0) opens conference play when they visit Johnson & Wales on Friday, November 7 at 7 PM. Salem St. (1-1) also opens conference play when they travel to Worcester St. on Thursday, October 6 at 7:10 PM.
