EVERETT, Mass. — The No. 11 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Wentworth, 4-1, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Tuesday night at Allied Veterans Memorial Rink.
Noah Gibbs (Saint-Basile, New Brunswick, Canada) put Endicott up 1-0 in the first period as he tapped home a pass from Sebastian Speck (Dryden, Mich.) in front of the net for his fifth goal of the season.
The host Leopards tied the game at the 12:10 mark of the first period before Speck gave the Blue and Green the lead less than two minutes afterwards.
With the lead still 2-1 in the second period, the Gulls ran a faceoff play to perfection as Michael Casey (Media, Pa.) won the puck back to Mark D'Agostino (Branford, Conn.) who fired one home to extend the lead to 3-1.
With the Gulls leading by two goals entering the third period, the defense clamped down the Leopards to keep them off the scoreboard, while Payton Miller (Flemington, N.J.) added an empty-net tally to finish off the road win.
In goal, Peter Sterling (Manassas, Va.) stopped 23 shots as his record goes to 9-1-0 this season.
