MALDEN, Mass. — The No. 11 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team scored three goals in the third period to come back and defeat non-conference opponent Tufts, 4-3, on the road at the Malden Valley Forum on Saturday night.
Ben Jenkinson (Nantucket, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal and his second of the night with 2:21 to play in the third period. The junior got a tip on a shot from the point by Antti Autere (Philadelphia, Pa.) and redirected it into the back of the net for his third goal of the season.
Louie Kamienski (Elmhurst, Ill.) got the comeback started in the third period with his seventh goal of the season with 13:15 to play. The tally was also his first power-play goal of the season.
Ryan Vaites (Mullica Hill, N.J.) tied the game at three apiece about four minutes later off a centering feed to the high slot from Jack Costanzo (Gloucester, Mass.).
After the Jumbos had gone up 1-0 early in the first period, Jenkinson tied the game off a low-angle shot that found its way past the Tufts goalie.
Tufts then scored twice in the second period to secure their 3-1 lead heading to the final 20 minutes.
In goal, Peter Sterling (Manassas, Va.) made 28 saves as his record improved to 11-1-0 this season.
