BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 10 Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated No. 11 Curry, 4-2, on Saturday evening in Conference of New England (CNE) action at the Raymond J. Bourque Ice Arena.
Jack Costanzo (Gloucester, Mass.) got the scoring started for the Gulls 2:25 into the game, redirecting a Kyle Furey (Marblehead, Mass.) shot from the far point.
Noah Gibbs (Saint-Basile, New Brunswick, Canada) then doubled up Endicott's lead on the power-play with another redirection, this time from a Sebastian Speck (Dryden, Mich.) shot.
The Colonels cut the lead to 2-1 less than a minute after Gibbs' tally, and then tied the contest 32 seconds into the second period.
Primo Self (Grand Rapids, Mich.) provided the game-winner at the 12:22 mark of the second period when he roofed a shot in the slot off feeds from Costanzo and Furey.
Anthony Cafarelli (Middleton, Mass.) finished off the victory for the hosts with an empty-net tally.
In goal, Peter Sterling (Manassas, Va.) made 17 saves as his record improves to 16-3-1 this season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls are 19-10-1 all-time against Curry.
- Costanzo recorded a point in his fourth consecutive game.
- Third game this season with two assists for Furey.
- Michael Casey (Media, Pa.) and Ben Jenkinson (Nantucket, Mass.) both tied for a game-high with 12 faceoff wins.
- Second game-winner of the season for Self and sixth of his career.
