BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 8 Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Nichols, 6-2, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Saturday evening at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
Noah Gibbs (Saint-Basile, New Brunswick, Canada) got the scoring started early off a pass from Louie Kamienski (Elmhurst, Ill.) after sending one past the goalie at the 18:45 mark to give the Gulls an early 1-0 lead. With eight minutes left, Conner Chalmers (Windham, N.H.) sent one from the right point to the top left corner of the net to make it 2-0.
Nichols capitalized on the power play with just under a minute remaining in the period, cutting the deficit to 2-1 heading into the second.
The Gulls kept the offense flowing in the second period, with goals from Sebastian Speck (Dryden, Mich) (18:41) and Anthony Cafarelli (Middleton, Mass.) (3:31, PP).
Nichols opened the third period scoring, pushing the score to 4-2. Endicott answered with two more goals, including one from Payton Miller (Flemington, N.J.) , who redirected a shot from Antti Autere (Philadelphia, Pa.). Michael Casey (Media, Pa.) later sealed the win with an empty-net goal at the 6:42 mark.
In net, Peter Sterling (Manassas, Va) earned the win and improved to 18-3-1 on the season behind his 30 save performance.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 23-4-1 all-time against the Bison.
- The Gulls are 20-0-1 in the last 20 meetings (four OT wins).
- Sterling is the first goalie to have an assist since 2021 (assisted on Cafarelli's goal).
- John Goldowski (Buffalo, N.Y.) tallied two assists in today's game (18th career).
- Chalmers notched his second career goal.
