Three Gulls Earn NEHWA All-Star Recogonition
BEVERLY, Mass. – For the first time in their careers, Kyle Furey (Marblehead, Mass.), Louie Kamienski (Elmhurst, Ill.), and Peter Sterling (Manassas, Va.) have all been selected to the New England Hockey Writers Association's (NEHWA) Division II/III Men's All-Star Team.
This ties the mark for the most NEHWA All-Star selections in one season, with 2016-17, when Endicott also had a goalie, forward, and defender named to the team.
The trio was also named to the Conference of New England (CNE) First-Team together.
The NEHWA honor is another postseason award that Sterling has collected, along with being named USCHO National Rookie of the Year and CCM/AHCA First-Team All-American.
Sterling compiled 21 wins, which ties the program mark for most wins in a single season. He also posted a 1.63 Goals Against Average with a .933 save percentage (615 saves).
Kamienski led the team in points with 28 as he totaled 12 goals and 16 assists.
The freshman left winger also scored two power-play goals, two game-winning tallies, and one game-tying marker along with a plus-24 rating on his stat sheet in 28 games played. Both Kamienski and Sterling are the first freshmen to be named NEHWA All-Stars.
In 28 games played, Furey notched three goals (1 GWG) and a team-leading 19 assists for a total of 22 points.
The senior ranked sixth on the team in plus/minus (+23). He also joins Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) as the only two defensemen in program history to earn NEHWA honors.
