    BRISTOL, R.I. – The Endicott men’s lacrosse team fell victim to an eight-point day by Roger Williams attacker Jon Nessa (Concord, Mass.) who scored four goals and assisted on four more as the Hawks handed the Gulls their first CCC loss with an 11-7 defeat on their own turf. 

    Endicott (7-6, 4-1 CCC) held a slim one-goal lead late in the first half after sophomore Chris Janelle (Falmouth, Maine) scored with the Gulls a man-down with 2:46 to go in half after an Endicott slashing penalty.  Roger Williams, however, tied the game at 4-4 with 34 seconds left on the clock and then took the lead just eight seconds later on a quick goal to go ahead 5-4. 

    Those two Roger Williams goals started a five-goal run that put the Hawks ahead 8-4.  Roger Williams scored six of the nine goals scored in the second half including a three-goal run ending midway through the fourth quarter that help put the game away. 

    Endicott was led by sophomore midfield Jon Thanas (Cumberland, R.I.) who scored two goals to bring his season total to 16.  Senior Connor Prescott (Norwalk, Conn.) added a goal and an assist as he now has 20 points on the season.

    The Blue and Green also saw junior faceoff man Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, Conn.) net his third goal of the year as well as win 12-of-19 draws with six groundballs. 

    Defensively, senior Greg Szkop (New Britain, Conn.) and junior Anthony Martignetti (Winchester, Mass.) each had two caused turnovers.  Szkop would add four groundballs.  Defenseman Breck Merritt (Weston, Mass.) also had a solid game with five groundballs and one caused turnover. 

    In goal for the Gulls, sophomore Conley Cummings (Simsbury, Conn.) put in the majority of the time between the pipes, making five saves. 

    Endicott outshot Roger Williams 34-26 and scooped 34 groundballs to 28 for the Hawks.  The Gulls were 16-of-19 on clear attempts.
    Endicott hosts Western New England on Thursday, April 21st at 7:00 pm with three games left in the regular season.
