Men's Lacrosse Weathers Snow Storm, Handles MIT, 17-11
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Endicott men's lacrosse team picked up a road, 17-11, victory over MIT on Wednesday afternoon at snowy Henry G. Steinbrenner '27 Field.
Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) led the way for the Gulls with five goals and an assist for six points.
Donovan Devellis (Norfolk, Mass.) and Adam Priest (Billerica, Mass.) both recorded hat-tricks in the victory, while Brody MacDonald (Hanson, Mass.) and Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.) scored twice.
Daniel DeBetta (Babylon, N.Y.) finished off the scoring with a solo tally.
Manny Marshall (Chelmsford, Mass.) also dished out a game-high four assists.
In goal, Gio Panicola (Long Beach, N.Y.) made nine saves to move to 3-0 on the season.
Trailing 4-2 early in the second quarter, the Blue and Green outscored the Engineers 9-1 over the rest of the second quarter to break the game open.
Endicott went on a 5-0 scoring run over the next six minutes to take a 7-4 lead before an MIT goal put an end to the run. Tyksinski scored twice during the run, with Devellis, Graap, and Priest all finding the back of the net as well.
The Gulls then finished scoring on a 4-0 run, including tallies from DeBetta and Foster seven seconds apart, which ignited the run.
Coming out of halftime, the Engineers didn't go away as they outscored Endicott 4-1 in the third quarter to cut the lead to three heading to the final 15 minutes.
In the fourth, MacDonald put the Gulls back up four, but MIT scored twice two minutes apart to cut the lead to 13-11. From there, the Gulls closed the game on a 4-0 run with Priest scoring twice to secure the road victory.

- Endicott is now 9-1 all-time versus MIT (won nine consecutive).
- First career hat-tricks for Devellis and Priest.
- Marshall's three assists are a single-game career high.
- Andrew Schlipf (Garden City, N.Y.) forced a game and career-high four turnovers.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (3-0) will host Springfield College on Friday, March 6 at 6 PM. MIT (1-2) travels to Troy, N.Y. to take on No. 17 RPI on Saturday, March 7 at 1 PM.
