CNE CHAMPIONSHIP: Western New England Tops Men’s Lacrosse, 10-7
BEVERLY, Mass. – The first-seeded Endicott men's lacrosse team fell to second-seeded Western New England, 10-7, in the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.
Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) paced the Gulls' attack with a hat trick.
Adam Priest (Billerica, Mass.), Manny Marshall (Chelmsford, Mass.), Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.), and Joseph Tumolo (Mahopac, N.Y.) also provided solo tallies in the setback.
In goal, Gio Panicola (Long Beach, N.Y.) finished the contest with 15 saves, tying his second-highest output of the season (14-4 overall).
Today's CNE Championship featured five ties (Q1: 1-1, 2-2 | Q2: 3-3 | Q3: 4-4, 5-5) before the Golden Bears produced a 4-0 scoring run in the second half to secure their 13th conference title and first since 2023.
Western New England broke the 5-5 stalemate with a strike at 3:02 of the third, and followed with three more unanswered goals in the fourth (12:59, 12:22, 9:56) for a large enough cushion the rest of the way.
Endicott responded with markers at 5:12 (9-6) and 3:07 (9-7) via Graap and Marshall, but CNE Tournament Most Outstanding Player Thomas Labbe (Brunswick, Maine) squashed the comeback bid with a man-up tally with 1:59 remaining.
In two playoff games, Labbe compiled seven goals and one assist to earn CNE Tournament Most Outstanding Player accolades.
