"We went into this match not taking them lightly" said Endicott men's rugby head coach Bob Ryman. "The beginning of the match was sloppy on both sides but it became clear that we were the more disciplined team."
The Gulls were led by first time fly-half Rob Wimpory. Senior Brian Sussingham also proved to be a strong offensive threat along with playing shutdown defense. Rookie Max Tuttle made his debut in Blue and Green at the wing position and contributed mightly to the Gulls victory.
Senior Ryan Staneck (Cheshire, Conn.) scored twice for the Gulls and also played well on both offense and defense. Junior Nick Rowe (Cary, N.C.) has also established himself as "physical power house as well as a fearless tackler and runner all over the pitch" according to coach Ryman. Sophomore Connor Moulton (North Falmouth, Mass.) was also a dominant force all over the field for the Gulls at the hooker position.
Staneck, Wimpory, Matt Camilleri (Chester, Conn.), Max Tuttle (Pittsfield, N.H.), and Brian Sussingham (Yonkers, N.Y.) all finished with two tries, while Wimpory also added six conversion kicks to lead all scorers with 22 points.
