No. 3 Nichols Bests No. 17 Men’s Rugby, 61-5
FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The No. 17 Endicott men's rugby team fell to No. 3 Nichols, 61-5, in the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Regionals Sweet 16 round on Saturday.
Scott Turner (Peabody, Mass.) scored the lone try for the Gulls at 68:04 with a hard-nosed second effort.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Jaden Carnevale (Coventry, R.I.) produced a captain's effort in a losing side. He didn't stop trying all game long and led from the front in the backline.
DEFENDER OF THE MATCH
Turner locked down an edge and made a couple of bone-jarring hits on the wing. He also scored one of the great individual tries of the season.
WHAT'S NEXT
No. 17 Endicott (6-3) will begin its 7s season later this spring.
