Men’s Rugby Places Second At Endicott 7s Tournament
BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's rugby team finished second overall at the Endicott 7s Tournament on Sunday evening at Hempstead Stadium.
The Gulls defeated Holy Cross (21-7) and Trinity (35-10) in pool play before routing UMass Lowell, 39-7, in the semifinal round.
In the championship, Endicott suffered a 24-12 setback to Nichols.
PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT
Jack Lewis (Clinton, Mass.) scored four long tries on the day and made play after play in every game, whether in attack or defense. He gave his all until the final whistle.
DEFENDER OF THE TOURNAMENT
Owen Swanson (Wilbraham, Mass.) didn't miss a tackle all day and locked down his channel off set pieces. He stood up in a big way when his team needed him.
