SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Senior goalkeeper Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, Conn.) and freshman midfielder Rieley Hoffman (Watertown, N.Y.) were honored as Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly award winners as announced Monday night by the conference office.
Weinstein earned his first CCC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season (fifth career) as he made 16 saves on the week to help the Gulls push their win streak to three straight matches.
Weinstein's 2-0 effort this week in goal came by way of wins over No. 16 Tufts and UMass-Dartmouth. Weinstein picked up his 15th career shutout with a 1-0 victory over the No. 16 nationally-ranked Jumbos on September 6th with his second clean sheet of the season.
Weinstein has made eight saves in back-to-back matches and in three of the Gulls' four matches this season.
Hoffman, a first-time CCC Rookie of the Week, scored his first career goal on a header in the 58th minute as Endicott shut out No. 16 Tufts, 1-0, on September 6th.
